During past year’s Mid-Autumn Festival in China we celebrated with baking Maximum moon cakes for our clients and friends with our whole Shanghai team. Even though gifting and eating mooncakes during Mid-Autumn Festival has a long running tradition, this year we decided to do things a little differently.

We wanted to gift our clients and friends something more meaningful, reflecting our environmental friendly mind-set and fulfil our corporate social responsibility. So we have bought 178 trees, which are going to be planted in Inner Mongolia in April 2015.

Each of the trees is bought on our behalf of a Maximum China client, friend or team member’s behalf. Hereby we supported the ‘The Shanghai Roots & Shoots Million Tree Project’ to help the earth’s precious environment and lessen the impact on the natural world.

This project began in 2007 and improved both ecological and humanitarian conditions by planting trees in Inner Mongolia. Till now, 1,368,335 trees have been donated and 342,083,750 kilograms poisonous carbon has been eaten thanks to the newly planted trees.

Maximum China has sent each of our contacts a bamboo ornament representing one tree that will be planted in Inner Mongolia during spring next year in an envelope with a letter made of 100% recycled paper.

Do you want to learn more about the Million Tree Project and support this initiative by donate your own tree and reduce your carbon footprint? Go to www.mtpchina.org and find out how you can help!
